You may have noticed a couple signs like the ones below while you were driving around Oakville this past Saturday October 21, and like the sign said we were collecting coats for our first annual Coats for Kids event.
From 1- 4pm The Rob Raham Team was at three different locations collecting coats: Nottinghill Gate Park in Glen Abbey, Grand Oak Park in Westmount, River Oaks Community Church.
And thanks to YOU we were able to get over 150 bags worth of winter clothing and not just for kids, but for men and women of all ages, now less people will go cold this winter.
All of your donations were then given to the local charity called SafetyNet, they will be responsible in distributing all the winter clothing donated to those in the Oakville community who will need them.
Last year SafetyNet was able to provide people with 400 coats and now this year they will be able to achieve that again thanks to our coat drive and to your thoughtful donations.
The team would like to extend a thank you to Tim Hortons, Aveiro Bakery and Tria Cafe & Bakery who kindly enough provided great treats and coffee to give to those that came by and donated coats.
The team is truly grateful for all the support and we can’t wait do more events to help the Oakville community.
